Water. Movement. Rest.

Drinking enough water is the most important thing you can do for your health. During Bowen therapy sessions, the body begins a detoxification process, and therefore it is necessary to slightly increase your water consumption. This will ensure that toxins leave the body and also that the muscles, the fascia surrounding them, and the joints are lubricated and thus more flexible—preparing the whole body for healing! Since every person is different, discuss with your therapist what the ideal amount is for you.

 

Movement, besides keeping you young and in shape, ensures the drainage of toxins from the body along with water. It is enough to walk briskly for at least 30 minutes every day to circulate these toxins. Additionally, by moving, you allow the body to reposition bones, relieve muscle tension, and thus get rid of pain!

Rest is a precious factor for the success of the therapy because most of the healing occurs during sleep. When the mind is absent and the brain enters the alpha state, it is the ideal time for the body to start doing its job. It is said that it is preferable to sleep in multiples of 1.5 hours until we feel rested. In some cases, it is possible that after therapy, you may feel more tired than usual. My advice is to listen to your body and take it easy, giving more time for sleep and relaxation. Your health will thank you!
