Permaculture Design

Learn to navigate your life with more awareness and authenticity.

Born in the city with no relatives in the countryside, I lived most of my life far away from nature. Looking back, now I see the purpose of that – knowing both extremes.

However, hearing the adults around me  talk about how things happen in the city life, since a small child I had my own ideas about how life can be improved and I dreamed of living off grid or as self-sustainable as possible. So, I guess in a way the road I would take in life was predictable.

In early 2020, life introduced me to this concept of permaculture and I deeply resonated with it. To the core of my being. It completed my already established knowledge as a therapist and broadened my view about the connection between people and nature.  My search deepened in time and in 2022 I managed to take things to another level – by officially completing the PDC in Norway with Jan Bang & Jen McConachie. Although, we learn as we live, and permaculture is about constantly adapting to what is, this was the moment I became aware of a lot of things – the relationship between soil and our own health, the importance of sowing ecological and heritage seeds, the dangers of using polluting materials and the reality of the trash we produce.

What is Permaculture?

We have an inside joke that comes with a song. I can’t sing it to you now, but the short answer is “we don’t know”. Because, Permaculture is vast, it is a philosophy of working with, rather than against nature – be it in the garden or in the office; it is about solutions that will last in the long run obtained by thoughtful observation rather than fast and thoughtless labor; it is about looking at things (be it plants and animals, or anything else) in all their functions, rather than treating any area as a single product system.

It is about finding the root cause of what is not working and finding the solution for it. It is about constantly adapting with our environment, always being present and aware of all the implications. Kind of like a moving meditation and still so much more. It seems to be more or less, going back to how God created us to be – a part of a functional system, living in symbiosis with ALL that is.

If you ask me, it is the future. It’s either this or no future at all.
